Experience personal Christian counseling tailored to your emotional and spiritual needs at Samaritan's Well. Whether you're seeking support for family issues or private struggles, we're here to provide a safe space for freedom, peace, and rest. Many have found us through recommendations from friends and family who have benefited from our counseling services.
During your first session at Samaritan's Well, we'll take the time to listen and understand your history and reasons for seeking counseling. We want to gain insight into your background, significant events, losses, betrayals, moves, and overall life journey. This initial interview-type session will set the context for future sessions and allow us to better support you.
Our individual counseling sessions can take place in person at our offices, virtually, or over the phone, depending on your preferences and needs. We offer flexible scheduling options, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
According to Proverbs chapter 26, a curse does not occur without a cause. At Samaritan's Well, we believe that identifying and removing hindrances to blessings is essential. Just as God instructed Israel to be a blessing, Jesus desires for you to experience abundant life, free from anything that steals, kills, or destroys. This is the plan He has for every Christian.
Discover the key areas we tackle in individual counseling: releasing resentment, conquering judgment, and embracing grief. These three areas are crucial for finding healing and guidance at Samaritans Well. Learn how forgiveness starts with acknowledging the hurt and anger that stems from an offense. Many people deny their anger towards themselves, God, or others, but as counselors, we strive to help you recognize and address these issues.
Moreover, uncover the destructive nature of judgment and how it can breed bitterness. By understanding the narrow path of righteous judgment, you can experience freedom. Explore the story of the Pharisee and the tax collector and grasp the essence of prideful judgment, which can even affect our relationship with ourselves. We delve into the significance of avoiding unrighteous judgment, as the Bible warns that we may find ourselves engaging in the same behavior.
Grieving is another crucial aspect we address in Christian counseling. Unfinished grieving can hinder your growth and rob you of joy. Through our assessment, we help you confront and process unresolved grief, allowing you to shed the necessary tears and move forward towards acceptance.
We understand that the first counseling session can be daunting, but we are committed to making you feel at ease. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities. Feel free to communicate any important needs or preferences for future sessions, and we will do our best to accommodate you. We believe in creating a comfortable setting because we know that true care fosters meaningful progress.
When you're ready to take the next step towards counseling, reach out to us through phone, text, or email. Setting up a session is quick and easy. We prioritize your well-being and will promptly arrange your counseling visit.
1. In the evening take 10-15 minutes and unplug from everything. Sit with the Lord.
2. Talk out loud (and/or journal) about your feelings for that day.
CONSIDER YOUR FIVE SOUL SENSES:
Your emotions are a continuum of these 5 OR a combination of these:
MAD -A reaction to a perceived injustice.
SAD -A reaction to a perceived loss.
GLAD - A reaction to a perceived blessing.
BAD (conviction/or shame)- A reaction to perceived guilt.
SCARED - A reaction to a perceived danger.
3. After you've spoken these things (or journaled them) out to the Lord, take some time and just be quiet perhaps with your eyes closed, and see anything that comes to you and jot it down in your journal or take action by confessing, forgiving, giving thanks, etc.
Having an awareness of your five foundational soul senses is very important as you move forward in counseling and you move forward in life. An exercise that can truly help you have this awareness in close relationships is the following:
