Meet Henry Delgado
Certified Chaplain
God’s gift to me was to have a safe listening ear. In the seventh grade, it was the first time a classmate opened up and shared how she did not get along with her mom. After lunch, she hugged me and said how much better she felt for all my help. All I did was listen. There was an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness for allowing the Lord to use me as a willing vessel to do His work. I continued doing this through high school. As an undergrad, I majored in Psychology. I took as many psychology classes at Yale University as were offered – general, abnormal, child, social, physiological, guilt and shame in neurosis, and mental illness, legal vs DSM – to name a few. When I came back to Texas in my church, The Vineyard, I was mentored by the Counseling Pastors. I taught the Breaking Codependence class, Victory over the Darkness class, and The Bondage Breaker class. I became a Stephen Leader (2000) and Stephen Minister (2001), had advanced training in the original Transformation Prayer Ministry (2002), and trained in DID (2004: I have actual experience with several cases). After retiring from the workforce, I became an Ordained Senior Chaplain with the International Fellowship of Chaplains. I have been blessed by being under the tutelage of Mark Verkler for several decades.
